System Requirements: To install and run FreeVF on your existing Web site you will need the following:
FreeVF is 100% Perl and will work on both Unix and NT servers. (Unix is preferred as NT don't have a sendmail, which is required for complete functionality of the program). Working copy of Perl 5 (Version 5 or greater) cgi-bin directory or ability to run cgi-scripts It works without sendmail, but you need one for your server to send registration information, lost password, newsletter features, etc SSI (Server side included is not required ) but if you want to show information about the number of registered users, and some other statistics on other pages it can be handy.
This program has been tested on the following platforms: HP-UX 9.05, Windows 98/NT/2000, Redhat Linux, Cobalt RaQ, Sun Solaris 8, MacOS X Server (FreeBSD), and should work on any system with a working, fairly current, Perl5.
If you meet those requirements, then there will be no problem using the program. |
