A CV is simply a tool to help you secure an interview. It is your chance to make the right impression with a prospective employer and opens the door to an interview. Your Select consultant will advise you on CV content and layout, but here are a few initial pointers
Presentation is vital. Use only one typeface, use upper and lower case letters, make sure your headings are consistent and keep to your margins
Start with your personal details followed by a brief summary of your strengths and qualities. Ideally this should be less than 50 words
List your qualifications, education and training concisely
Detail your career chronologically, starting with your present/most recent job
Give a brief description of each job only when it is relevant - include responsibilities and achievements
Don't over elaborate. Your CV should be a maximum of 3 pages in total
