The Festival covers feature and documentary films` retrospective, a premiere of a play on Tarkovsky, polaroid exhibition, talks by Marina Tarkovskaya and master classes

A number of distinguished British poets, translators and actors (Robert Chandler, Kitty Hunter-Blair, Richard McKane) will take part in the event The second evening is dedicated to Andrei Tarkovsky Marina Tarkovskaya will share her memories of her brother, which are vividly captured in Tarkovsky`s autobiographical and breathtaking film “Mirror”. Aleksandr Gordon – a film director will talk about Tarkovsky’s student years at VGIK. He will show an extract from his film “Sergei Lazo” where Tarkovsky plays a White officer. Layla Alexander-Garrett will share her experience working on Tarkovsky’s last film “The Sacrifice”.
A focal point of the event is the screening of Tarkovsky`s seven feature films, as well as, documentaries and a play by Erland Josephson. A brand new 35 mm print of “The Sacrifice” will be released by “Artificial Eye” Each screening will be introduced by an actor or a participant in the film

The English premiere of Erland Josephson’s Play “One Summer Night in Sweden” “En natt i den svenska sommaren”
A reading directed by Brian Stirner The play is dedicated to Tarkovsky’s last masterpiece “The Sacrifice”. It is a philosophical and often amusing, reflection on the clash of two cultures – the Russian and the Western and the complex and passionate relationship between actors and director, as they struggle to find their way to mutual understanding and acceptance.
